The Players (Wedding Party)

It's very important to us that our wedding is small, intimate, fun, and shared with those who have been so instrumental and supportive in our lives. We feel our wedding party reflects that as well.

Kristy's Attendants
Heather Folau
, Matron of Honor
Heather has been my life-long best friend and like a sister to me since we
were toddlers! I was maid of honor for her special day, and I can't imagine not having her beside me during our day!

Hannah & Ezrah Folau, Flower Girl & Ringbearer
Hannah is Heather's sw
eet, beautiful daughter and my niece. Ez is Heather's son and such a loving little guy! They're traveling all the way from Baltimore for the wedding.

Dan's Attendants
Amanda & Abby Pred

Amanda is Dan's oldest daughter and will be one of his "Groom's Girls!' She has a beautiful voice and will also sing our first dance song (not sure what that will be yet...let us know if you have a suggestion)!

Abby is Dan's youngest daughter and already excited about her dress (hope she loves blu
e!), hair, and responsibilities as a "Groom's Girl." She has also requested ice cream cake for the reception...stay tuned.

Other

Mark & Suzie Geisler
I've known Mark & Suz since they were born and am honored to be the
ir "Aunt Kristy." They will be our official greeters and organizers! I'm happy to have their help.

Kevin "Kevy Metal" Rankin
Kevy is Dan's best buddy and will also be our officiant. And he's so talented, that w
e may also have him play drums in the band, serve cake, and light candles.

THE Proposal

ELVIS IS ALIVE!

Dan wanted to attend the NAB (National Assn. of Broadcasters) tradeshow in Vegas. I wanted to get out of town and enjoy some sunshine poolside. So off we went for a 3-day reprieve.

Dan made plans (this was my first suspicion) to meet up for drinks with friends that were also attending the show, and then we had dinner reservations afterwards. He told me to dress nicely, and that we needed to meet the friends at 7 pm in front of the Eiffel Tower on the Strip.

We strolled out at 7 exactly, and met up with the friends. Of course since they are all videographers, they had cameras (as did every other person on the strip). When a gigantic Elvis walked up to us and seemed to know Dan, the cameras started rolling and, well, watch it yourself here.

About Us

SHE'S A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY, HE'S A LITTLE BIT ROCK & ROLL!

You've heard the old Donnie & Marie song, right?

Kristy was born and raised on a farm in small town America -- Othello, Washington. That's where she learned that she wasn't cut out for early mornings. So off to college at Central Washington U., then to big-town Portland right after graduation. She has worked at various corporate and agency marketing & advertising jobs, and is currently the Marketing Director at Woodburn Company Stores where she has fine-tuned her shopping skills.

Kristy's still a little bit country and when not working, she loves to play in her garden, work on her house, read, travel, cook and hang out with friends. Though she doesn't like to get up at the crack of dawn, she does appreciate fresh vegetables, the smell of clean dirt, country music, and down-home, All-American people.

Dan says he's just a regular guy. But for anyone that knows him, you know that's not true! Born & raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Dan is the middle of three sons. That's probably why he's a peacemaker now and so easygoing. He works hard and plays hard. As the drummer for Portland-based The Dan Reed Network (think late 80s/early 90s, big hair and bad fashion), Dan had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour the world doing what he loved. In 1991, Dan turned another one of his passions, video editing and production, into his own business and founded Video Media LLC.
Dan still loves music, making videos, hanging out with his daughters Amanda and Abby, eating great food and traveling. And, he'll always be a little bit rock & roll!

HOW WE MET....
Kristy inherited Dan when she took her position at Woodburn Company Stores. Dan's company had been doing video work for the company for a couple of years prior. When Kristy came on board, she continued to hire Dan 2-3x a year for various projects. When he went above and beyond on one particularly challenging project but wouldn't charge extra for it, Kristy insisted on at least taking him out for a beer (Kristy's note: I would have done this for any vendor that made my work look great, but it helped that Dan was nice, fun, single and flirting with me). So months later, Dan finally cleared his schedule enough to go out for that drink. After happy hour at one nice restaurant downtown, we ended up at a CD release party for one of his acquaintances at a dive bar. It was a 100 degree day, and the place had no air conditioning. After a short time in that sauna, we had a good laugh then left. It took another month before Dan could schedule a 2nd "date" but the rest is history!

FINALLY!

The ring is on the finger, the plan is in action, and the date has been set! Please join us on Sunday, May 30, 2010 in beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon as we celebrate our wedding.
